Studies in Germany and New Zealand have demonstrated that four acupuncture treatments (once weekly in the month leading up to delivery) shortened average time in labor by 17.8% for first time moms. Perhaps more importantly, there was an overall 35% reduction in the number of inductions (for primigravida women, this was a 43% reduction); 31% reduction in the epidural rate; 32% reduction in emergency cesarean delivery; and a 9% increase in normal vaginal birth. Peat hydrotherapy is a bath with a temperature between 106-112 degrees (tailored to the patient's case) with minerals. These minerals also called Peat is added to increase circulation, boost the immune system, relieve pain in muscles and joints, decrease inflammation and detoxify the body. With Peat baths the toxins are carried out of the tissues and eliminated. How Peat Hydrotherapy Works..... Healthy cells need oxygen, nutrients, and a way to eliminate metabolic waste products, which means that healthy cells need a good circulation and detoxification system to perform optimally.
